Массовое издание текста Закона о государственных пенсиях, принятого Верховным Советом СССР 14 июля 1956 года.
Данный закон сыграл особую роль в создании пенсионного права России. На смену правовой базы разрозненного характера пришло полное упорядочение системы пенсионного права, в том числе появился этот закон, который устанавливал единый возрастной критерий для назначения пенсий: возраст (для мужчин 60 лет, для женщин – 55).
