[Два будущих Генсека СССР] Фотография Юрия Андропова, Михаила Горбачёва и Раисы Горбачёвой на отдыхе в Кисловодске.

Юрий Андропов и Михаил Горбачёв познакомились на отдыхе на Северном Кавказе (в Железноводске) в 1969 году, когда М. Горбачёв занимал пост Второго секретаря Ставропольского обкома. Андропов ездил на курорты Кавказа — Кисловодск и Железноводск — для лечения в течение двенадцати лет. В Кисловодске он останавливался в особняке санатория "Красные камни". Во время этих визитов Ю. Андропов, уроженец Ставропольского края, и М. Горбачёв общались в неформальной обстановке.
