Борис Андреевич Филиппов (наст. ф. Филистинский; 1905-1991) – писатель, поэт, литературный критик. Сын офицера. Окончил Восточный институт в Ленинграде, интересовался индуизмом и буддизмом. Несколько раз арестовывался. В 1936-1941 гг. отбывал срок в Печорских лагерях. В 1941 г. был отправлен в ссылку в Новгород. После войны оказался в Германии, находился в лагере для «перемещенных лиц». С 1950 г. жил в США, преподавал русскую литературу. А. Савин отмечал, что книга «редко встречается».
