Письмо написано на оборотной стороне отрывного листа календаря. Следы от сгибов, следы от помет карандашом.

Скорее всего, в письме идет речь о програмном антисталинском произведении Александра Твардовского — «Тёркин на том свете». Текст произведения был подготовлен к печати в середине 1950-х. 23 июля 1954 секретариат ЦК под председательством Н. С. Хрущёва принял постановление, осуждающее Твардовского за подготовленную к публикации поэму. Лишь в 1963 году, во время кампании по «разоблачению культа личности Сталина», поэма была впервые опубликована в газете «Известия».
