Черно-белый фильм «Абрек Заур» (Реж. Б. Михин) о борьбе горцев с царским режимом вышел в 1926 г. «Получив обещание, Заур сдался. Вместе с ним на смерть пошёл его названный брат – Муртаза… Последняя просьба Заура – протанцовать лезгинку – была исполнена». Либретто к фильму дополнено заметкой Виктора Шкловского «Горные крестьяне».
