Юрий Фельзен — псевдоним Николая Бернардовича Фрейденштейна (1894-1943). "Счастье" — вторая часть трилогии, написана в форме дневника безымянного главного героя. Фельзен задумывал трилогию по аналогии с "В поисках утраченного времени" М. Пруста. Елена (Леля) Владимировна Герд — адресат всех записей, писем, размышлений рассказчика.
